Down with the fire ants!
During playtime Sunday night at Awana's, Kaylee 'found' a fire ant bed with her foot. The next three days/nights were awful. Her foot was so swollen. We plied her with antihistamines, anti-inflammatory, and topical anti-inch. If there was an anti-something we tried it! For my yankee friends, fire ants are aptly named. When they bite, they burn, itch and hurt - all at the same time! (I have heard that all creatures have a place in this world but I truly do not understand the place of the fire ant.) For my southern friends, I have since learned that it is best to immediately scrub the area for two min. with soap, rinse thoroughly, apply an antiseptic, followed by an anti-itch.

I am so glad to see Kaylee is going to AWANA!! That is such a great place for our 4 year olds! I can't believe how beautiful and grown up Kaylee is. We miss you all so much.
