Kaylee decided to take matters into her own hands. She tells me one afternoon she is going to the pond. When I check on her, I see her with her rains boots and bug net. She is determined to have her fish! So I help her catch a minnow and we kept it in our mop bucket for a couple of days Guess she will be getting a fish for Christmas, sigh.

Can I have a fish?
When Kaylee was three yrs old, she asked for a fish. I explained how she was too young because of the care of the fish, cleaning the tanks, etc. So I say when you are five you may have one. Of course I was taking the easy was out at the time, thinking she would forget. Being a first time mom and not previously have any exposure to preschoolers I did not know that they have a memory like a steel trap (at least when it suites them!). So fast forward two years and.......yes, you guessed correctly. She still remembers. Well after some research, this fish thing is not so simple, for the reasons I mentioned above. I explain this to her and tell her we will consider this for a Christmas present after we both research the matter further.
